Southpac Aerospace is pleased to announce their aviation Safety Management System (SMS) course in your area!
Due to high demand, Southpac Aerospace is hosting our renown Aviation SMS course in Darwin 17-21 Sep 2018.
It makes it a nice change from the usual time and expense travelling south.

SMS Regulatory requirements are changing!

As you are probably aware, the final phase of CASA regulatory change will commence late in 2018.
This will include all aviation organisations operating for hire or reward to require SMS in the future.
Get certified now, before the regulatory changes take place.

Why SMS?

The misconception is that SMS is a regulatory requirement only – a burden imposed by CASA.
This is not the case. A correctly implemented and tuned SMS will:

  • Facilitate greater Human Factors in your organisation
  • Improve your Safety Culture
  • Assist you in a Proactive and Predictive safety analysis
  • Work with your WHS and QMS to create integrated systems for management
  • Increase efficiency and prevent spending hard-earned $

Our Team.

The Southpac Aerospace SMS facilitators are highly skilled specialists in their field and are passionate about your training practice.
The facilitators have significant operational (Civilian and Military) and regulatory experience (both ex-CASA) – perfect for content delivery of SMS.
For Darwin, Matt McKay is taking lead!

There is a balance of Theory, facilitation, classrooms discussion and practical exercises (individual and group)
The aim of the course is to:

  • Provide you with the background, need and regulatory requirements of SMS
  • Teach the theory of SMS structure
  • Demonstrate How this theory looks in reality
  • Practice How to implement or work with the CASA SMS structure
  • Explain how Human Factors, Safety Culture and Safety Leadership are critical to the success of your SMS

What others have said about the Aviation SMS Course.

This was an excellent course, facilitated by a very knowledgeable, experienced instructor with an excellent delivery technique.
There was a great variety in students providing a varied experience base. I really enjoyed the group work sessions and discussion on the case studies provided.
Jason Bird – Qantas

Thorough course that covers all aspects of SMS. The pace is ideal and the number of personal examples/experiences was excellent.
The website will provide a terrific resource and the facilitators were wonderful.
Craig Mitchell – Skytraders

Prior to this course I was feeling challenged by the self-directed study I had undertaken.
I was navigating the information for the development of QMS to SMS and the process seemed daunting.
After 5 days on the Southpac SMS course with Matt McKay I can honestly say that my doubts have gone.  The information gaps have been filled.
The structure I needed has been provided and my knowledge and confidence enhanced.
Matt is a true blue safety management professional with top notch facilitation skills.
If you are thinking about this course I say “go for it.”  Matt delivered everything I needed to move myself and our team forwards, no question.
Shona Hobday – Rotor & Wing Maintenance (New Zealand)

Facilitation and delivery was exceptional. Clearly the facilitator is an SMS expert in the subject.
Access to the website post course will be extremely useful in the future. Course objectives were fully met and content targeted learner requirements.
