Course Overview 

This course provides the skills and knowledge required to manage shifts, crewing and rostering activities in aviation in compliance with relevant regulatory requirements of relevant Civil Aviation authorities, including CASA, CAA New Zealand, CASA PNG and others.

About the course

This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to manage shifts, crewing and rostering activities in aviation in compliance with relevant regulatory requirements of of relevant Civil Aviation authorities, including CASA, CAA New Zealand, CASA PNG and others.

It includes preparing to manage shifts, crewing and rostering, establishing crew resourcing framework, managing the development of crew rosters, and monitoring crew rosters.

This unit addresses aviation technical skill requirements (physical, mental and task-management abilities) related to resource management duties of flight or ground operations personnel and contributes to safe and effective performance in complex aviation operational environments.

This unit contributes to the AVI50119 Diploma of Aviation (Aviation Management). Upon successful completion of this course, including all assessments, participants will receive a statement of attainment for:

Participants will develop the necessary skills to:

  • Prepare to manage shifts, crewing and rostering
  • Establish crew resourcing framework
  • Manage the development of crew rosters, and
  • Monitor crew rosters

This unit is beneficial to anyone in the aviation workforce, especially those required to manage shifts, crewing and rostering within an aviation organisation.

This course requires the learner to have a suitable level of language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) proficiency and a basic level of digital literacy to comprehend the course content, participate in group activities, and complete assessment activities through an online portal.

Southpac Aerospace can provide appropriate support to learners who need additional help to complete the course if they do not meet the required proficiency in LLN and digital literacy.
