Southpac Aerospace, in partnership with CW Aviation Security Consulting, recently hosted a valuable free webinar on ‘Developing an Air Operator Security Program (AOSP)’.

The session was led by renowned aviation security experts Jim Termini and Shannon Wandmaker, who provided attendees with a comprehensive overview of how to develop, implement, and maintain an effective AOSP that meets International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards.

Jim Termini, Principal Advisor of Aviation Security at Southpac Aerospace, is a highly experienced AvSec professional with a background as a military and commercial pilot, as well as cofounding one of the world’s leading Aviation Security companies, Redline, in the UK. He is a permanent member of the ICAO Working Group on Guidance Material and serves as a PASO Aviation Security Inspector. Currently, he is also the Technical Advisor, Aviation Security to Samoa and Vanuatu.

Shannon Wandmaker, from CW Aviation Security Consulting, brings a global perspective with his experience across the Middle East, Asia Pacific, and Europe. His roles have included Head of Aviation Security for G4S Risk Consulting in Kuwait and worldwide Head of Cargo Security for the International Air Transport Association (IATA).

During the webinar, the speakers covered essential topics such as what an effective AOSP should contain, how to create a document that is both compliant and contextually relevant to your operation, and the need for ongoing quality assurance to ensure the AOSP remains up to date with the ever-evolving international standards. The discussion also emphasised the critical role of clear and concise documentation in facilitating the effective implementation of security measures.

This session was the first in a planned series of webinars aimed at providing ongoing education and support to aviation professionals across the Asia Pacific, and beyond. Southpac Aerospace is committed to offering these educational opportunities to enhance industry knowledge and practice in aviation security.
