Certificate III in Aviation (Aerodrome Operations) now available at Southpac Aerospace

The AVI30119 Certificate III in Aviation (Aerodrome Operations) provides the core operational skills required for a range of aerodrome roles.

Southpac Aerospace has announced the addition of the AVI30119 Certificate III in Aviation (Aerodrome Operations) to its nationally recognised training portfolio, marking a significant expansion of its aerodrome training pathway for the aviation industry.

The qualification provides the core operational skills required for a range of aerodrome roles, including Aerodrome Reporting Officers, and is designed to support the safe and efficient day-to-day running of aerodrome environments.

Building on Southpac Aerospace’s established reputation in delivering aerodrome and ARO training across Australia, the new Certificate III creates a structured pathway for individuals and organisations looking to develop comprehensive operational capability, from foundational airside skills through to broader operational responsibilities. Southpac’s aerodrome training programs already support operators nationwide, particularly regional and remote aerodromes, in meeting regulatory and operational requirements.

In particular, aerodrome professionals who have already completed Southpac’s accredited Aerodrome Reporting Officer Skill Set training will have achieved 8 of the 15 units required for the Certificate III, making this a natural next step to formalise existing skills into a nationally recognised qualification.

The introduction of the qualification reflects growing industry demand for nationally recognised, competency-based training that aligns with evolving regulatory expectations and workforce development needs. It also strengthens Southpac Aerospace’s position as a provider of aviation education through short courses, skill sets, and formal qualifications designed by industry practitioners.

As aerodrome operations continue to evolve in complexity, the Certificate III provides organisations with a practical way to build capability, support workforce progression, and ensure personnel are equipped with the skills required to operate safely and confidently in dynamic airside environments.

The Certificate III is exclusively delivered as an in-house program, available to organisations looking to upskill up to 10 personnel per cohort. A training proposal can be requested from the course page.
