Behaviour Detection Awareness added to Southpac Aviation Security Training

Southpac Aerospace has released a new online course as part of its expanding Aviation Security training portfolio, the Behaviour Detection Awareness (BDA) course. This flexible, self-paced training is designed to equip personnel with the skills to recognise suspicious behaviours that may indicate a threat to aviation or other sensitive environments.
The BDA course raises frontline awareness of behavioural indicators associated with criminal or terrorist intent. Participants will learn to observe, interpret, and respond to subtle cues in a way that enhances existing security procedures and fosters proactive threat detection.
Designed for those working in or around secure or high-traffic areas, this awareness-level training is suitable for aviation security staff, screeners, airline operations personnel, customs officers, contracted security providers, and others with security responsibilities at regulated airports and facilities.
Delivered fully online and designed to be completed in under 1 hour, the course offers a practical overview of the purpose and principles of behaviour detection. Participants will explore potential targets for crime or terrorism, the stages of an attack, and how early detection contributes to effective prevention. Adding this layer of behavioural awareness helps organisations stay one step ahead of emerging threats, complementing existing physical and procedural security measures.
The course is structured around a series of concise modules, with interactive content that encourages critical thinking and sharper situational awareness.
Southpac Aerospace ensures all course content is informed by current aviation security frameworks and global best practices. As a Registered Training Organisation (RTO 32353), Southpac works closely with industry partners to deliver accessible, standards-aligned security training across Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific.
This new offering builds on the success of Southpac’s Recognition of Firearms & Explosives (RFX) Awareness course and Aviation Security Awareness Training and reflects a continued commitment to supporting the aviation sector with relevant, timely, and high-quality training solutions.
