Course Overview 

This course provides the skills and knowledge required to manage the performance of staff who are direct reports. It covers work allocation and the methods to review performance, reward excellence and provide feedback where there is a need for improvement.

About the course

The BSBLDR522 Manage People Performance unit provides the skills and knowledge required to manage the performance of staff who are direct reports. Development of key result areas and key performance indicators and standards, coupled with regular and timely coaching and feedback, provide the basis for performance management.

It covers work allocation and the methods to review performance, reward excellence and provide feedback where there is a need for improvement.

The unit makes the link between performance management and performance development, and reinforces both functions as a key requirement for effective managers.

This unit can be used towards Southpac Diplomas including the Diploma of Aviation (Aviation Management). Upon successful completion of this course, including all assessments, participants will receive a statement of attainment for:

BSBLDR522 Manage people performance

Participants will develop the necessary skills to:

  • Allocate work and develop work plans in accordance with operational plans
  • Assess performance, including designing performance management and review processes
  • Provide feedback and conduct formal structured feedback sessions as necessary, and
  • Manage follow up, including counselling or coaching individuals

Any individuals who manage people.
