Course Overview

The AVI30119 Certificate III in Aviation (Aerodrome Operations) qualification builds the core operational capabilities required to support safe and efficient aerodrome operations.

As the only Registered Training Organisation to offer this qualification in Australia, Southpac’s program has been designed to deliver the relevant knowledge and skills that must be applied by individuals working in the aerodrome sector.

Participants build practical capability across the core functions of aerodrome operations, including inspections and serviceability reporting, airside driving and access control, and operational communications including radio procedures and NOTAM preparation. The learning extends into coordinating aerodrome works, facilitating emergency response activities, and developing team leadership skills, enabling graduates to operate confidently and contribute effectively within airside environments.

The program also strengthens capability in aviation work health and safety, human factors, and situational awareness, ensuring participants can make sound decisions in dynamic operational environments.

If you’ve completed Southpac’s accredited Aerodrome Reporting Officer training, you’ll already have 8 of the 15 required units, making this a natural next step to formalise your skills into a nationally recognised qualification.
